Matt (Stun) vs. Mario (Psychics)
Mario won the opening roll and will be beginning this game.
Mario drew his sixth card, set one spell or trap card to end his turn.
Matt summoned Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo, made a direct attack, then set three cards in his spell or trap zone to pass his turn.
Mario summoned Psychic Commander, then activated Mind Control to take control of Matt’s Fossil Dyna. Matt chained Magic Drain to attempt to negate the Mind Control. Mario did not discard for Mind Control. (It should be noted here that neither player knew that they could not attempt to synchro summon even with Fossil Dyna as the synchro material.) Psychic Commander then attacked Fossil Dyna. Mario then set one spell or trap card to end his turn.
Matt responded by special summoning Cyber Dragon from his hand. Mario was ready to protect his Commander as he flipped Bottomless Trap Hole to remove the Dragon. Matt then summoned Neo Spacian Grand Mole, and flipped Smashing Ground to attempt to destroy the Commander. But Mario was prepared not to take any damage by flipping Book of Moon to target his Commander, so it could be saved from Smashing Ground. Grand Mole then attacked Mario’s facedown Commander; activating its effect to bounce both the Mole and the Commander back to each player’s hand. Matt ended with no other plays.
Mario set one spell or trap card, then re-summoned Psychic Commander, made a direct attack and ended his turn.
Matt also set one spell or trap card, then re-summoned Neo Spacian Grand Mole, flipped another copy of Smashing Ground, finally destroying the Commander. Mole made a direct attack and Matt ended his turn.
Mario special summoned Cyber Dragon, Matt flipped his own Bottomless Trap Hole, then Mario flipped Book of Moon to save his Cyber Dragon, and Matt responded with Dark Bribe! Mario drew his card from Bribe, Cyber Dragon was destroyed and removed. Mario could only set one monster and passed his turn.
Matt attacked Mario’s facedown monster with Mole, sending both monsters back to their hands. Matt ended his turn with no other moves.
Mario summoned Nimble Momonga, attacked directly, and ended his turn.
Right now the life point count is Mario at 5900 and Matt at 5400.
Matt special summoned another copy of Cyber Dragon, re-summoned his Grand Mole, and Mole attacked into Momonga, activating its effect again to bounce both monsters back into their hands. Cyber Dragon made a direct attack. Then, Matt set one spell or trap card to end his turn.
Mario activated Dark Hole to destroy the Cyber Dragon, then re-summoned Nimble Momonga, and made a direct attack to end his turn.
Matt could only set a monster to pass his turn.
Mario feared that his Momonga could not take out Matt’s monster; switched his monster to defense mode to end his turn.
Matt flipped his facedown monster into attack mode, it was Spirit Reaper! Matt re-summoned Grand Mole, activated Smashing Ground to destroy Momonga, then both monsters made a direct attack. Spirit Reaper’s effect discarded Pot of Avarice from Mario’s hand. Matt ended with no other plays.
Mario special summoned another copy of Cyber Dragon, and sent the Dragon to attack the Reaper to deal more damage, only to meet its end with Matt’s Mirror Force. Mario set one spell or trap card to end his turn.
Matt summoned Thunder King Raioh, Mario flipped Bottomless Trap Hole, to get rid of it. Grand Mole and Reaper made another direct attacked each, and Reaper discarded Chaos Sorcerer from Mario’s hand. Matt then summoned Doomcaliber Knight, and Mario conceded the game; seeing as he could not fight his way out of this. Matt has taken first game!
Both players are now going into their side decks, now that both players have an idea of what the other is playing, can now utilize their side deck to fight off their opponent.
Mario has opted to begin the second game by setting one monster and setting two cards in his spell or trap zone to end his turn.
Matt summoned King Tiger Wanghu, Mario flipped Bottomless Trap Hole to get rid of the Tiger. Then Matt set the rest of his hand in spell or trap zone; a total of five cards!
Mario summoned Krebons, made a direct attacked, then ended his turn.
Matt drew and summoned Banisher of the Radiance, and attacked Mario’s facedown Nimble Momonga, removing it from the game, so that the Momonga could not call out his other buddies. Matt then ended his turn.
Mario drew and ended his turn.
Matt sent Banisher to attack Mario’s Krebons, Mario activated its effect to negate the attack by paying 800 life points. Matt ended his turn with one card in hand.
Mario summoned Psychic Commander, sent the Commander to attack the Banisher, Matt flipped Dimensional Prison, Mario chained Trap Stun, then Matt chained Enemy Controller to put the Commander in defense mode. Then Mario attacked Banisher with Krebons, activating Commander’s effect in the damage step by paying 500 life points to decrease Banisher’s attack by 500 to destroy it. (Matt was unaware that the Commander’s effect could affect all psychic-type monsters.)
Matt summoned Thunder King Raioh, attacked the Commander to end his turn.
Mario activated Mystical Space Typhoon to target Matt’s facedown Dark Bribe, Matt flipped Magic Drain to make Mario discard. Mario did not discard and ended his turn.
The life point count is 6700 to 6700.
Matt drew and flipped Book of Moon to flip Krebons facedown, then Thunder King Raioh attacked and destroyed the facedown Krebons.
Mario special summoned Cyber Dragon, Matt flipped Bottomless Trap Hole to destroy it. Mario summoned another copy of Cyber Dragon, Matt activated Raioh’s effect by sending itself to the graveyard to negate the Cyber Dragon’s summon. Mario then set one spell or trap card to end.
Matt summoned another Banisher of the Radiance, made a direct attack to end his turn.
Mario set another spell or trap card to end.
Matt attacked again with Banisher to end his turn.
Mario activated Pot of Duality to reveal Pot of Avarice, Torrential Tribute, and Nimble Momonga off the top of his deck. Mario added Torrential Tribute to his hand, then set the Torrential Tribute to end his turn.
Banisher made another direct attack.
Mario drew and ended his turn.
Matt summoned Spirit Reaper, and Mario flipped Torrential Tribute, but Matt was ready as he flipped Dark Bribe to negate the trap and Mario drew one for its effect.
Banisher and Reaper both attacked directly to win the match!
Matt’s Stun has controlled Mario’s plays and claims him the match 2-0!
