BulletProof II Locals, November 13, 2010 Finals

Mario vs. Feng (Gravekeeper’s vs Debris Plants)

Feng won the die roll and will be going first.

Feng drew his sixth card, and set one monster and two cards to his spell and trap zone to end his turn.

Mario was up, and he set one monster, activated Necrovalley, set one spell or trap zone to end his turn.

Feng activated Soul Exchange, targeting Mario’s set monster. Feng’s face down Spore and Mario’s set Gravekeeper’s Recruiter was tribute for Tytannial, Princessof Camellias. Recruiter’s effect was activated, and it added Gravekeeper’s Assailant to Mario’s hand. Feng finished his turn by setting one more card in his spell and trap zone.

Mario set one more spell or trap and one monster to pass his turn.


Feng summoned Lonefire Blossom, activated its effect; tributing itself to special summon Dandylion in defense mode. At the end of his main phase, Mario sent Effect Veiler from his hand to the graveyard to target Tytannial. Feng activated Tytannial’s effect, tributing his Dandylion to negate Effect Veiler. Two fluff tokens were special summoned to Feng’s field. Tytannial attacked Mario’s set monster. Mario flipped Dimensional Prison. Feng again activated Tytannial’s effect; tributing one of his fluff tokens to negate Dimensional Prison. Mario’s Gravekeeper’s Assailant was destroyed. Feng ended his turn.

Mario set one monster to end his turn.

Feng set one spell or trap card. Tytannial attacked into Mario’s set Gravekeeper’s Spy. Its effect special summoned Gravekeeper’s Recruiter in attack mode. Feng passed his turn.

Mario attacked the other fluff token with the Recruiter. Mario tributed the Recruiter to summon Caius the Shadow Monarch, its effect activated to target Tytannial. Feng activated Tytannial’s effect to tribute itself to save it from being removed from play. Recruiter’s effect added Gravekeeper’s Assailant to Mario’s hand. Mario ended his turn. Feng flipped Royal Decree in the end phase.

Feng activated Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Necrovalley. Debris Dragon was summoned next; activating its effect; targeting Dandylion. Mario activated Effect Veiler from his hand; sending it to the graveyard, to negate Debris Dragon’s effect. Debris Dragon made a direct attack, and Feng ended his turn.

Mario activated Pot of Duality; revealing Gravekeeper’s Descendent, Trap Stun, and Torrential Tribute. Mario added Descendent to his hand, and shuffled the others back into the deck. Mario discarded Gravekeeper’s Commandant to add Necrovalley to his hand. Necrovalley was activated. Descendent was summoned next. Descendent attacked and destroyed Debris Dragon. Mario set one spell or trap card to end his turn.

Feng drew and passed his turn.

Mario summoned Gravekeeper’s Assailant. Both Gravekeepers attacked directly. Mario passed his turn.

The score was Feng’s 3000 to Mario’s 7000.

Feng drew and passed his turn again.

Mario activated Gravekeeper’s Stele, adding Commandant and Recruiter to his hand. Recruiter was summoned and all the Gravekeeper’s attacked for game, allowing Mario to take game one!

Both players began to side deck immediately.

Feng has opted to start game two.

Feng drew his sixth card, and activated Dimensional Fissure, and then summoned D.D. Survior. Then he set three cards to his spell and trap zone to end his turn.

Mario activated Necrovalley, then special summoned Cyber Dragon, and then summoned Gravekeeper’s Commandant. Commandant attacked into the Survivor, Feng flipped Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Necrovalley. Commandant was destroyed and removed from play. Cyber Dragon attacked into Survivor. Mario then set one spell or trap and ended his turn. Feng flipped Royal Decree and Survivor came back during Mario’s end phase.


Feng tributed the Survivor for Cyber Dragon. Feng then activated Enemy Controller to turn Cyber Dragon to defense mode. Feng’s Cyber Dragon attacked and destroyed Mario’s Cyber Dragon.

Mario had voiced why he did not contact to Chimeratech Fortress Dragon. Feng said that he couldn’t because of Dimensional Fissure.

Feng ended his turn, and Survivor was summoned in his end phase.

Mario set one monster to end his turn.

Cyber Dragon attacked into Mario’s set Gravekeeper’s Spy, it’s effect special summoned another Spy in defense mode. Feng ended his turn.

Mario summoned Effect Veiler. Veiler was tuned to Spy to synchro summon Magical Android. Andriod attacked Cyber Dragon, and Mario gained 600 life points in his end phase.

Feng contemplated whether to switch his Survivor to defense mode. He decided against it, and ended his turn.

Mario summoned Thunder King Rai-Oh, then activated Book of Moon on Survivor; to turn it face down.  Android attacked the Survivor; destroying it (Because Survivor was selected as an attack target while it’s face down, its effect does not activate). Rai-Oh made a direct attack, and Mario ended his turn and gained another 600 life points.

Feng summoned his own Thunder King Rai-Oh, and Rai-Oh attacked Mario’s own; destroying both. Feng ended his turn.


Mario summoned Gravekeeper’s Assailant, and both Assailant and Andriod made a direct attack. Mario gained another 600 in the end phase.

Feng summoned another Rai-Oh and attacked into the Assailant.

Android attacked Rai-Oh, and Mario gained another 600 points.

The life count is Feng at 700 and Mario at 10100.

Feng special summoned Cyber Dragon in defense mode to end his turn.

Mario attacked Cyber Dragon with Magical Android to end his turn.

Feng saw his next card, and he conceded the game, unable to defend against Android.

Althought it seemed like the control was Feng’s during game one, Mario taken back control and took game one. Feng’s usage of Dimensional Fissure may have stopped Mario’s Stele play, but Feng could not stay in control as Mario controlled game two with Magical Android, and continued the onslaught with Magical Android.

Mario has won the match 2-0!
